About Us
Kenmare Adult Education Centre continues
to provide a Centre for learning in the Kenmare and surrounding areas.
We try to provide a friendly and supportive learning environment to
participants on courses, which are designed to offer basics for
newcomers and up to Fetac level 6 for those looking for progression to
higher education. The Centre offers a wide range of courses in many
subjects, from short taster courses to those leading to Fetac
certification, from level 3 to 6. These include Information Technology,
Painting, Photography, Woodcraft, Horticulture and Business.
The list of computer classes run at the Centre continue to be popular,
they range from complete basics for beginners, to more challenging
applications for more advanced students. The art department
provides courses in different media and at varying levels, from short
fun courses to Fetac level 5 Painting. Some students from the Centre
have gone on to exhibit at well attended exhibitions. Photography is
also a very popular area, and we have run courses from very beginners
to Fetac level 6, some of our students have exhibited in a number of
local galleries, and taken part successfully in national competitions.
Our garden is becoming more productive, and we offer a number of
certified courses in gardening.
In addition,hosting clubs such as Active
Retirement, Photography Club, Horticulture Clubs, Art Group, Barber
Shop and Madrigal Choir. The centre is also used by many local
committees as a meeting place.
Kenmare Adult Education Centre is committed to serving the community in
all aspects, with valuable courses that each individual deserves whilst
they continue their lifelong journey of learning.
